Guatemala looking a little bloated here on this map-metric which shows the global rates of homicide.In spite of the many articles claiming that the stories of children abducted and trafficked for 'parts' in Guatemala are all part of an urban myth, the appearance of the body of an eight-year-old girl recently, missing both heart and lungs, is a bit of a dead giveaway really.
On a more positive note, Guatemala's international aiport Aurora has been upgraded to category 1 status by the FAA and its aviation industry is also now said to meet international standards.
