Surfer decided to have two summer exhibitions this year and the second of these, which opened yesterday evening, was by far the summeriest. And it turned into quite the celebration of the recent turn in our weather.
The walls of the gallery were brightened up by Michael Foreman's seascapes from St Ives in Cornwall. Not only do these warm canvasses summon up, as the catalogue proclaimed "the ever changing wonder of the Atlantic sea and sky" they also made for a fairly evocative combination with the cocktails shaken up by the Illustration Cupboard's cheery Aussie barman.
The real highlight though was the set of dangling Swami surfboards created by Giles Dunn. Giles named his company after the 'infamous' point-break in California which also features a cliff-top Hindu temple. His designs are printed onto the boards then wrapped in multiple layers of polished resin. Each one comes in a limited edition of ten.
