8th Biggest

This graphic from The Economist disguises the fact that most of Brazil's output is the crappy C-grade stuff, not the gourmet beans we grow here.

The accompanying article notes that, perhaps surprisingly, more coffee is drunk in Germany and Japan than in France and Italy.

Speaking of coffee--I've recently been buying green--de oro--coffee from a farm in Chimaltenango called Finca San Jose Ocana...it is insanely good coffee. It was a Cup of Excellence winner a few years back and is still magnificent...see if you can find it freshly roasted in your area (you should be able to, I'd think).

How many roasters are in Antigua these days?
