Revenge of the Nerds?

Last week's Newsnight Review paused to consider the growing dominance of the boxed-set buyers and their sci-fi cultural googles in mainstream narrative creativity.

It featured a fascinating confrontation between Kevin Smith and Jeanette Winterson. Smith was wearing a bath robe in honour of the 30th anniversary of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

I suppose I'm just going to have to watch Flash Forward now...
