No slurping

The gradual march towards the society where all expressions of carnality are regarded as anti-social by the dominant machine class took a tiny hop forward today when the New York Subway issued a new list of banned things - this will now include "sipping from an open container" (I wonder if this excludes those take-away tops you get from Starbucks with a little hole to suck through?) Last year there were moves afoot to ban the taking of photographs on the subway, but this activity is apparently regarded more favourably in 2005. Ditto the registering of voters.
