Palestinianism and Zionism both have groundings in non-extremist, reasonable and realisable yearnings.
Yet both ideals are being hijacked by radicals who have become completely detached from reality — flooding the algorithm — seemingly determined to relentlessly demonise the antagonistic POV…rival cadres insisting that it's the other side that is inherently extremist, an avatar of everything which must be held up for reproach, thus feeding the very process whereby any engagement between the decent voices on each side is effectively been smothered. And this is no accident.
Now people are dying. Not just people in the immediate firing line of the underlying conflict, but people both inside and outside of it, who may even be trying to find a path to resolving it.
Those responsible for this collateral violence have a duty to bottle their out of control animus, to put a sock in it, at least where their rhetoric has turned extremist, and that includes the judgmental verbal violence they have inflicted on the silence of others turned off, when not actually disgusted by, this ambience of demented militancy.
