Voice Recognition

The organisations with which I communicate regularly are increasingly using voice recognition technology. I'm taking time to get used to it. 

Ten or so years ago my wife's bank in London used to ask her what her mother's maiden name was, even though it's a rather obvious part of her own surname. 

This, I suppose, is a problem that did need solving, but many of the current solutions do appear to come packaged with intimations of future problems.
