Midnight in the Switchgrass (2021)

The second movie of 2021 that Bruce Willis appears to have sleepwalked through, the first being the even more dismal Out of Death, which was also set in the boondocks.

To be fair, audiences would also be well advised to set consciousness to low power mode before sitting through this guff.

Overall it is little more than a showcase for careers that are on the back slope and an artless layer cake of genre clichés.

Indeed, the killer himself — played by Lukas Haas (forever Samuel from Witness) — presents as an amalgamation of at least three different serial killer archetypes, even though he is supposedly based on Houston's Robert Benjamin Rhoades, a.k.a. The Truck Stop Killer.
